Dog fouling warning

EAST Riding dog warden Mark Precious has been called in after complaints of dog fouling in the Snaith area.

Mr Precious met with Snaith and Cowick town councillor John Staveley-Churton as well as East Riding councillor John Barrett.

They visited several locations including Ferry Lane, Court Road, the Parkway and Mill Bourne Balk Road.

Coun Staveley-Churton said: “I had received several complaints from Snaith residents regarding dog fouling. I was unsure of the legal aspects, enforcing procedures and problems faced by the East Riding Council on their land. Mark was able to give me all the information I required along with further dog fouling signage which I will put up in the area.”

Coun John Barrett said: “I received further complaints from parents whose children had trodden in dog mess on the pavements whilst on their way to school.”

Mr Precious added that dog owners need to be aware that action can and will be taken against them if required.
