NEWS that huge company Iceland is wanting to come to Selby with the promise of potential new jobs is surely good news for the town.

But bosses at the renowned frozen food company say they are finding it difficult to bring their brands to this area as they are having to jump through hoops with Selby District Council.

They claim all they want is to open dialogue with SDC and get the ball rolling and not be frozen out, but the council insist there is a protocol they must follow like all other companies.

As many traders are saying – in the current economic climate surely things can be speeded up in order to bring the prospect of new jobs and a bright future for many in Selby?
