THE HUT People appear at The Gate in Goole as part of the World of Music Season this weekend.
The duo is made up of local accordionist Sam Pirt, of 422 - the band which has previously won the Radio 2 folk awards - and percussionist Gary Hammond.
Sam is well established in the folk world and has played alongside Kathryn Tickell, The Dubliners, Sharon Shannon, Jez Lowe, Brian Finnegan, Brian McNeill and many others.
Gary has for the past 12 years recorded and toured with The Beautiful South. He has worked with Nina Simone, Homespun, and many other groups and set ups within the world music and jazz/pop world. He has also worked on many television shows including Ab Fab and Monarch of the Glen.
The Hut People have a love of Scandinavian, English and European folk tunes which they play with an accordion/multi percussion twist.
Tickets for the performance, which takes place on Saturday, June 7, from 8pm, are £7/£5 from Goole Town Council, Gladstone Terrace, on the door, or phone the daytme box office on 01405 763652, showtime box office 01405 720219 (one hour before performance).
