I WOULD like to respond to comments made by Mr Alan Wilson of the Advance Goole Action Group in a recent Courier, which may have misled readers.
As one of seven private landlords who own the last few properties on the two streets that have not yet been acquired by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Mr Wilson is well aware that the redevelopment plans are now at an advanced stage.
The primary aim of redeveloping this area, which also includes the former Adelphi Warehouse site off Hook Road, is to provide different types of quality, affordable housing for the people of Goole in attractive and pleasant surroundings. It is important to clarify that the council is seeking expressions of interest from parties interested in redeveloping the site.
Sally Burns
Head of Housing and Public Protection
East Riding of Yorkshire Council
Beverley
