Money for empty houses

IF WE can spend £400,000 on renovating Pasture Road (Courier, May 8) then should we not spend a few bob on refurbishing some empty houses? Where have all the shops gone Mrs Morton (Viewpoint, May 8)? In a word - Tesco. So, if you are going to open a shop, make sure Tesco's does not sell the same goods.
