I WOULD like to take this opportunity to thank Rawcliffe resident Mr McKenna for his thoughts on the ongoing traffic calming in Goole (Courier Viewpoint June 13).
I'm sure we residents of Goole, affected by the traffic calming measures in Goole, appreciate his contribution. No doubt EYRC also value his support for the scheme.
I'm also sure that if in the future the council does some equally stupid thing in Rawcliffe, the residents of Goole will reciprocate Mr McKenna's enthusiasm by speaking out in favour of whatever he disagrees with at the time.
It is with the best intentions that I would suggest that he contact EYRC with a view to erecting a set or two of the speed humps earmarked for Goole for use in Rawcliffe. We won't miss them and he is very welcome to have as many as he wants.
