Drama group has ball!
SNAITH and Cowick Drama Group recently re-enacted a famous fairytale - and had a ball doing it!
The group ran their production of Cinderella last weekend at The Snaith School, showing two productions throughout the day (one in the late afternoon and one in the evening).
The show certainly came with lively effects including bright strobe lighting to dazzle the crowd as well as smoke machines being deployed to give a fairytale effect.
Cinderella tells the tale of the girl turned into a servant by her wicked stepmother before being treated badly by the two ugly sisters.
With some help from fairytale characters, Cinderella of course escapes before marrying the prince of her dreams.
The group laid on the play as part of their Christmas preparations and the cast decided to lay on two shows due to demand.
Snaith and Cowick Drama Group was created in 2006. It was created in line with a Community Questionnaire that found that Drama was very popular in the area and people wanted to see a Group formed in the area.
The Group was launched in April 2006 and was set up during a community meeting at Snaith High School. From this platform, the Group has grown into a community Group that performs a couple of times a year.
The Group was originally designed for Adults but soon changed to allow children from 11 years old to join. It then developed further with the addition use of a Technical Support Team and more people adding to the Production and Casting teams.
The group regularly meet up at The Snaith School on Thursday evenings from 6:45pm until 9pm and subs are £1.50.
If you would like to be involved with the group, please email them on email@example.com for more information.
