THE EAST Riding County Choir December concert takes place on Saturday, December 1, from 7.30pm.

Handel Saul, under musical director Allan Spedding, is being performed at Beverley Minster with soprano Lucy Hall, countertenor Robin Tyson, tenor Nathan Vale and baritone Adrian Powter.

Also appearing is The East Riding Sinfonia with leader Patricia Mitchell.

Tickets are priced £8, £12 and £15 and are available from Beverley Tourist Information Centre on 01482 391672 or at the door from 6.45pm. Accompanied children, 16 and under, are free.

q A CHRISTMAS fair in support of Help for Heroes is being held at the Eversley Park Centre on Low Street in Sherburn in Elmet.

The event is being organised by Sherburn Aero Club and takes place on Saturday December 1 from 11am.

There will be craft stalls, mulled wine, turkey and stuffing sandwiches, tombola, refreshments and Help for Heroes merchandise.

Visit Santa and his angel.

All proceeds from this charitable event to Help for Heroes.

q THE sensational Hull Choral Union is returning to Hull City Hall on Wednesday December 5 to perform Handel’s dramatic Messiah.

The concert will feature British soprano Zoë Bonner, whose television and radio appearances include BBC Songs of Praise, Kombat Opera’s Question Time Out (BBC Two), Radio 3’s In Tune and Tony Palmer’s 2011 film “Holst - In The Bleak Midwinter” for BBC Four.
