JUNCTION is managing to ‘hold its head above water’ despite the recession.
And the future looks bright as a new funding package is about to start, giving the award-winning centre more than double its current budget.
Arts and leisure manager, Charlie Studdy, says the complex, in Paradise Place, Goole, is on target to hit its budget for this year, both for audience figures and on finances.
“The message is we are keeping our heads above water at a time when people are definitely feeling the pinch,” he said.
And, he added, in April – the start of the new financial year – the new and upgraded funding package from Arts Council England gets underway, which will give Junction £72,000 each year for the next three years.
“This is a real jump from the £30,000 that we have had for this last year and will allow us to develop a range of other projects alongside the live programme,” said Charlie (pictured).
