RESIDENTS are being urged to take up a new skill and join a pottery class in Swinton.

The sessions are now taken twice weekly by ceramic artist Sharon Cooke at Swinton Lock Activity Centre.

They were originally held on Fridays, but a Monday session from 9am to 1pm has now been added due to public demand.

Centre manager Ruth Midgley said: “The classes are proving popular and the students make all kinds of things and it is a lot of fun.

“We still have places left for the Monday session so if you want to try something new, please ring us on 01709 578778.”
