A SLICE of Norway is coming to the Isle allowing residents to stay active in the winter months.

The Nordic Walkers lead evening treks around Epworth Showground each Thursday evening from 6.30pm to 8pm. It also has weekend walks and the next one will be around Low Burnham on Saturday, October 20, from 8.30am to 10am.

Those taking part use poles so the upper body muscles exercised as well as the legs.

Walking Instructor Stephen Williams said: “The Epworth Showground is a vast area of lovely flat grassland meaning with the use of a head torch, walkers can continue to enjoy fresh air and exercise without the fear of slips.”

“The sessions are far from just walking round a field in the dark however as of group exercises make every session fun.”
