WIN tickets to see Lord of the Flies at Hull New Theatre
Lord Of The Flies.
NIGEL Williams’ stunning stage adaptation of Sir William Golding’s novel Lord of the Flies will be arriving at Hull New Theatre for a three-day run from February 13 to 15 2012.
One of the most disturbing and celebrated tales of all time, Lord of the Flies tells the story of a plane crash that happens on an uninhabited island.
The only survivors are a group of schoolboys, and as they begin to realise there are no homes, schools, adults or rules, it’s not long before their fragile sense of order begins to collapse.
With the discovery of ‘the beast’, the boys’ games take on a sinister significance, and the once well-behaved children become a blood-thirsty, murderous tribe.
Adapted to mark the centenary of William Golding’s birth, this UK revival of the classic tale of morality will be the longest tour in Sell A Door’s five-year history, and will be visiting 16 leading regional theatres from February to April 2012.
Tickets for Lord of the Flies, priced £14, are available for purchase from the Wilson Centre in Alfred Gelder Street, Hull, by calling the booking and information line on 01482 300300 or log-on to the www.hullcc.gov.uk/hullnewtheatre website.
And we’ve got three pairs of tickets to the February 13 performance to give away in our competition. To enter, simply tell us for which book Sir William Golding won the Booker Prize. E-mail your answer to editorial@selbytimes.co.uk by the closing date of February 8 2012. Usual Selby Times rules apply.
