GOOLE College student Chris Cunningham rose to the challenge last month when he took part in a charity fire walk.
The event took place at the Abbey Vaults Public House in Selby and saw Chris, along with other volunteers, receive just two hours training before 'facing the heat' and walking across the hot coals.

The event was to raise funds for DIAL, Selby's Disability and Advice Line, and Chris raised £213 in sponsorship for his efforts.

He told the Courier: "I can only describe the feeling as like holding a hot potato and passing it from hand to hand!

"It was a tremendous evening and it was great to see so many people supporting us in this worthwhile cause."

A spokesman for Goole College said: "We would like to congratulate Chris and wish him well in his next challenge: walking on broken glass!"
