AN EQUESTRIAN and exercise training paddock in Gilberdyke has been refused planning permission.
Mr R Overend's proposal to the East Riding of Yorkshire Council for a change of use of the agricultural land which forms part of Chapel Farm, situated between Old Trough Lane and Sandholme Road, was denied recently following numerous objections.
The application was a resubmission of an earlier application which was refused in May 2007 on the grounds of adverse impacts on neighbours as a result of noise and disturbance.
Gilberdyke Parish Council objected to it because of possible roadside parking, noise and disturbance, health and safety, sanitation and land drainage, animal welfare and light pollution.
Highway Control said that the amount of traffic likely to be generated would be minimal with Public Protection recommending approval if conditions were put in place to protect the amenity of nearby properties from adverse effects because of noise, dust and light disturbance.
But planning committee members refused planning permission on the grounds of disturbance to residents with noise and dust.
