35 jobs spark high interest
Mick Cox, Chief Executive and Eliot Grant, Managing Director at The Skills Network.
A RECRUITMENT evening which was held to mark a raft of new jobs heading to Selby, has been described as “a brilliant success”.
The Skills Network, a private training provider, held the evening in anticipation of yet another expansion - the third in less than a year.
The company, whose Yorkshire headquarters are based at Abbey Court on Benedict Drive, are looking to fill 35 posts ranging from web designers to administration assistants.
James Earl, Head of Communications and Creative Development for The Skills Network, says that the company was flooded with a wide variety of talented applicants on the evening.
He said: “It was a really successful night.
“We had over 60 people turn up on the night so nearly two candidates for every job, which just goes to show the high level of interest.
“We’ve got a range of different roles available and we’re always on the lookout for talented individuals.
“The whole point of the evening was to try and find talented people, with a range of skills and I think we did that.”
The company publishes learning resources and also provides consultancy services to the Further Education sector.
The launch of an online learning platform this year, combined with the growth of its consultancy services and college sub-contracts, means that further posts have been created.
Skills Network only employed five people when it was founded but now has a workforce of over 400.
Managing Director Eliot Grant said: “This is a very exciting time to join the business and we are delighted that we can create more jobs in the region.
“I hope we can find some great individuals to join the business.”
