Breaking news - Selby selected for £1m Big Lottery Fund boost

IT HAS been announced this morning that Selby is set to receive a major cash boost to make the town a better place to live.

Selby has been selected as one of 150 communities across England to receive at least £1m Lottery funding to spend over the next ten years enabling residents to identify priorities that matter to them and take positive action,

The news has been welcomed by town leaders, including Paul Eckersley, headteacher of Selby High School, he said: “This is fantastic news for both Selby and the school.

“To have this level of investment available over the next ten years will enable students to work with local professionals and organisations.”
