The new contract will commence on April 1 and will cover 28 of the specialist retirement housing provider’s 70 Extra Care housing estates nationwide.

We will be working closely with the residents to ensure fresh, homemade and nutritious food using our regional suppliers is served. Hanover’s Head of Operations North Tom Brown added: “We’ve listened to residents’ views and it’s clear that residents really value their catering service. They want fresh, high quality & nutritionally balanced meals with plenty of choices which suit different tastes and needs.”
In order to represent residents’ views and to assist with the catering tender Hanover’s Catering and Procurement team recruited 65-year old resident Janet Mizzen to research and collate residents’ views.
Janet said: “Selecting a good catering provider is paramount if older people are to maintain good health through healthy eating.”
