HEART & SOLD!
VALENTINE’S Day will see Goole launch it’s first loyalty discount for shoppers of goods and services.
“I love Goole” is the creation of organisations working together to introduce an initiative that supports local traders and consumers.
Working group chairman Gerald Holmes said: “We wanted to do something that would help the local economy.
“A recent survey carried out by the Federation found shops and public houses are closing down at an alarming rate all over the country and making our towns and cities almost no-go areas.”
The South and East Yorkshire National Federation of Small Businesses vice chairman continued: “With this in mind, I felt that we needed something to show that Goole town is a vibrant and diverse place to do shopping and even have a bite to eat whilst relaxing.”
For the shopper, a membership key fob will give access to member-only offers available from businesses participating in the scheme.
Details will also be publicised in each participating business and regular electronic newsletters will be sent to members.
To join the scheme, registration forms and fobs will be available on Tuesday’s launch date in The Precinct, courtesy of Goole College, and be available from many of the participating launch stores to be announced.
Goole Renaissance Manager Helen Hoult added: “This is a great example of people and organisations working together to make something happen.
“There has been no funding to launch this venture. It’s all down to the time and goodwill of those involved.
“The key fob is a clever idea and will promote Goole by simply being visible wherever people put their keys down and, I am sure, prompt some interesting discussions.”
