Weather update - Travel advice from Northern Rail

NORTHERN Rail’s travel advice to passengers is to check the latest information available before they travel this evening and to allow more time than usual to complete their journey.

A spokesman said: “Although we anticipate running a normal service today, we are urging our passengers to check National Rail (www.nationalrail.co.uk) or our dedicated Journey Check page (www.journeycheck.com/northernrail) before travelling as there is the possibility of disruption.

“You can also follow us on Twitter @northernrailorg for updates throughout the day.

“Passengers are also advised to wear warm clothing, suitable footwear and carry a fully charged mobile if possible, in case delays occur as a result of the weather.

“Weekend services - We urge passengers to continue to check National Rail (www.nationalrail.co.uk) or our dedicated Journey Check page (www.journeycheck.com/northernrail) tomorrow for information relating to train services for Saturday January 19 and Sunday January 20.”
