Can’t beat a bit of Bolly
BOLLYWOOD glamour comes to Selby later this month in aid of a popular charity in the town.
Indian restaurant Jinnah is putting on the fund-raising theme night to help raise cash for the Selby Times-backed Selby Hands of Hope (SHOH).
The charity’s founder Wendy Singh said the restaurant approached her about hosting the evening.
She said: “There will be authentic music and dance from India, as well as an all-you-can-eat Indian buffet.
“It is going to be fantastic. Jinnah approached us and asked can we put this event on – I am thrilled about it. It will be a colourful evening and I hope it is a hugely successful night.”
Tickets, priced £15, are available from Wendy on 01757 213711 or wendy@selbyhandsofhope.org.uk, or by ringing Jinnah, which is on Park Road, on 01757 706660.
SHOH has two more fund-raising events in the pipeline. On November 2 at DW Sports Fitness Club in Selby there’s The Little Black Dress Fashion Show. Tickets are £5 from the club or Wendy.
On November 16, Selby Working Men’s Club is hosting a race night. Tickets are £10, including buffet.
