Double award success for store

A POPULAR shop in Hemingbrough has scooped two prestigious national accolades at the Retail Industry Awards.

Londis owners Teresa and Geoff Turner, and sales assistant Becky Chilvers, won at the grocery Oscars.

Teresa and Geoff’s store won Community Retailer of the Year, while Becky, 21, was named Independent Sales Assistant of the Year.

In the previous two years the store won Independent Retailer of the Year.

Teresa said: “We are delighted that our shop has received an award for the third year running. We are passionate about offering local people the best local store and great customer service. We want to give our customers the best service we can and both the store award and Becky’s personal award is a real credit to the staff who work so hard.”

Becky said: “I love working for Teresa and Geoff. The advice and help they give me has really built my confidence and it’s flattering they trust me to run their store when they aren’t around.”
