Breaking news - MP to meet with health secretary over Selby hospital’s services
Selby Conservatives vice-president Nigel Adams
SELBY MP Nigel Adams MP will be meeting the Health Secretary, Jeremy Hunt on Monday to discuss the underlying financial issues that have led to alarm over the possible withdrawal of services at Selby’s new hospital.
Whilst there has been no decision to withdraw services, there has been much speculation that has caused concern over the MIU and other services.
Nigel Adams commented: “The North Yorkshire PCT has had a recurring financial deficit which has gone on for several years and must be addressed. I will certainly be trying to ensure that no important service at the new hospital is withdrawn”
“However, I am surprised at the lack of proactive communication from the PCT over this problem especially as I and other MP’s met with Chief Executive, Christopher Long in September and we were meant to be updated before the end of the year”
