A big problem

An ambulance crew had called them to assist in the removal of a Bariatric patient (a clinically obese person) from a house in Station Road.

The crew arrived at about 6pm on Sunday and had to remove the person from a bedroom.

A spokesman said they estimated the person to be in the region of 30 stones in weight.

The crew had to use a winch to take the person from the house and lower them to the ground.

Once they had assured the person was safe they helped them into the ambulance and they were taken to hospital.

They said this was a special service call.
