Bicycles theft hunt
CAUGHT on camera at Selby train station, this man (pictured) is wanted by British Transport Police because they believe he is posing as a member of rail staff.
They also want to speak to him in connection with four thefts of bicycles – valued at nearly £2,000 – from railway stations across the north of England.
The man is currently British Transport Police’s number one target for cycle theft across the north east. He wears a distinctive orange high-visibility vest or yellow jacket – the same as is worn by rail staff.
Chf Insp Derek O’Mara said: “We believe he is dressing as a member of rail staff to avoid raising suspicion while he steals the cycles. We believe someone somewhere must know who this man is.”
Anyone with information should call British Transport Police on freephone 0800 405040. Alternatively, you can contact the Crimestoppers hotline, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
