Council events reveal consultation findings

SHARING its findings from recent community consultations is the East Riding of Yorkshire Council's Advance Goole neighbourhood team.

Local people are being encouraged to attend two events that will be staged at Goole Leisure Centre this month to hear about the issues raised during the consultation process with residents of the Boothferry Road and Shuffleton.

In recent weeks, a series of community consultation events and activities have taken place at venues across the town.

This included the use of a 3D model and pin boards, which enabled residents to highlight issues affecting their neighbourhoods, and street surgeries that saw representatives of the council and its partner organisations visiting a number of streets in the area to speak to residents.

Both of the feedback events will take place at Goole Leisure Centre between 6-8pm, the first on Wednesday July 15 and the second on Thursday July 23. Refreshments will be provided.

The aim is to involve residents in prioritising the issues identified during the consultation process and in finding solutions that will help to improve their neighbourhood.

Roslyn Abbott, neighbourhood management officer for Goole, explained: "We received a huge amount of useful feedback from residents of the Boothferry Road and Shuffleton areas of Goole and now want to share the findings with local people.

"This is great opportunity for residents to work with the council and other service providers to bring about positive change within their communities.

"I hope that as many people as possible will come along and share their ideas.

"We hope to prioritise the issues that residents want to address at the first event.

"At the second event, we will look at what actions can be taken to deal with the issues raised. Representatives of a range of partner organisations, including Humberside Fire and Rescue and the NHS, will attend the second event to discuss changes that we can all make to improve life for people living in these areas of Goole."

Any residents who want to reserve a place at the event should contact Roslyn Abbott on 01482 391471, although people are welcome to turn up on the day.
