Cyclist injured in collision near Drax
POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was injured in a collision with a lorry in Selby district.
The cyclist, a 38-year-old man from Goole, suffered suspected serious injuries in the incident, which occurred on the A645 between Drax and the A614, at around 5.50pm on Wednesday January 30, 2013.
The cyclist was taken to York District Hospital for treatment, where he remains after being kept in overnight.
Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw a white Mercedes lorry or the cyclist on the road prior to the incident, to get in touch.
Traffic Constable Ken England, of Tadcaster Roads Policing Group, said: “The A645 will have been fairly busy at the time of the collision, therefore I believe that there are witnesses who have not yet come forward.
“If you have any information that can help the investigation, please contact the police as soon as possible.”
Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for Ken England or Tadcaster Roads Policing Group.
Alternatively, information can be sent via email to kenneth.england@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
