Diesel targets

A WARNING has been issued for the public to keep its eyes peeled and for drivers of heavy goods vehicles to be on high alert after theft of diesel from a lorry.

The theft happened on the A162 in Sherburn when approximately 100 litres of diesel was taken overnight on November 28 into November 29 from an overseas Volvo lorry parked at the side of the road.

A police spokesman said: “People parking up lorries need to be extra careful. As this lorry came from overseas thieves saw it as an easy target.” Call 101 with information.
