Firework attack on elderly couple

AN elderley woman has been treated for shock by paramedics after an ignited firework was posted through her letterbox.

The woman and her partner, both of Chapel Garth in Gilberdyke, were subject to the attack in the early hours of last Sunday, which set light to their carpet.

Humberside Fire and Rescue attended the scene of the incident, though the fire had already been stamped out by the residents upon arrival.

Police are currently looking for the driver of a small white van that was seen in the area at the time, and want to speak to a number of youths in connection with the incident.

Anyone with any information can phone Humberside Police on 0845 60 60 222.
