Gilberdyke resident Alan Hardy has come up with a unique way of raising cash for the village hall.
34-year old Alan is attempting to enter the world record books when he aims to play a Japanese role-playing computer game for the longest time continuously.
The current record is 34 hours and Alan is hopeful of beating that landmark when he undertakes the challenge next Friday (March 15) at the village hall.
He will be playing the game Final Fantasy VII and as part of the record stipulations he is allowed a ten-minute break for every hour that he plays. He hopes to raise funds which can then be used by the hall to help with running costs.
Alan, a former Howden School student, is also appealing for people to be independent witnesses to sit and watch him for every hour, as evidence.
If you would like to volunteer as a witness, contact Alan by email at alanjohn1234@ hotmail.com or call 077637 06086.
