Youngsters in Riccall have been emulating Andy Murray as they learn the ways of the tennis world whilst keeping active at the same time.
Children have been attending ‘Short Tennis’ sessions at the Regen Centre in a bid to not only maintain fitness levels but also to learn the basic skills of the sport.
Qualified coach Jason May takes the weekly lessons and insists the sessions are hugely beneficial.
He says: “I believe people learn best whilst they are having fun, in an encouraging and supportive environment. I want children to be inspired and get the tennis bug.
“I want people to learn to play the game (of tennis), as this is what is so addictive.”

Sessions not only take place at Riccall but also in other areas of the region such as Sherburn and Cawood.
