A Goole bakery has been named as Overall Business of the Year at the Chamber Goole and Howdenshire Business Excellence Awards

Fullers Bakery, based on Pasture Road, produces traditional and speciality bread as well as confectionary.

The shop supplies wholesalers as well as its own eight shops which are scattered across Goole, Howden, Pocklington, Beverley, Crowle and Epworth.

The company was awarded the gong for ‘Business of the Year’ (over 20 employees category) for its impressive performances over the past 12 months.

And as if that wasn’t enough, the bakery had double reason to celebrate after one of its members of staff was also handed an award.

Karen Birdsall scooped the Employee of the Year award for all her hard work for the company, putting the cherry on top of a hugely successful night for the bakery.

The glittering ceremony, which took place last Friday night, was in its third year and was held at the Think Conference Centre, at the Goole Academy.

The sell-out event was hosted by TV personality and Look North presenter Harry Gration, who introduced each of the awards and also narrated the videos featuring the finalists.
