Green grants for Selby District groups
NEW grants of up to £5,000 have been made available as part of a new Rusholme Wind Farm Fund.
Local councillor and Selby AVS funding officer Steve Shaw-Wright says the grants for Drax, Long Drax, Newland and Airmyn as well as other areas in Selby and East Riding are aimed at community groups.
He said: “The Rusholme Wind Farm Fund is an ideal opportunity for local community groups and the four Parrish councils to make a real difference to the local environment of the area. It’s an easy application process and Selby AVS can help with the application process and find addition funding if required. The funding pot is currently under subscribed so chances of success are high.”
The release of funding follows the building of the 12 turbine windfarm between Selby and Goole in 2010. Anyone needing further information about the fund, or other funding opportunities should contact Selby AVS on 01757 291111 and ask for Steve or Julie or log on to www.tworidingscommunityfoundation.org.uk/
