A RECRUITMENT CALL HAS BEEN SOUNDED FOR VOLUNTEERS TO ACT AS GUIDES FOR A FAMOUS HISTORICAL LANDMARK BUILDING IN SNAITH.

Snaith and Cowick Town mayor and chairman of the council, Greta Laughton, has joined forces with East Riding of Yorkshire counillor for the area, John Barrett, to find volunteers to act as guides showing visitors around Snaith Priory Church, on one of the town’s heritage walks.

Mrs Laughton said full training, information and briefing would be given to any who offered their services as guides and she added: “This is an important service people can give. The priory Church is on one of the 28 heritage trails we have in the area. Information on these and how to apply to be a guide can be found at the council offices at the former HSBC Bank in Market Place in Snaith.

“The Priory is more than 900 years old and has a rich and varied history. This is a position that is part time and those volunteering would get full training.”
