Heroin worth three quarters of a million seized

HEROIN worth a quarter of a million pounds was seized when the police mounted a large-scale recovery operation on the outskirts of Goole on Saturday night.

A helicopter was drafted in as part of the massive haul, to stop a suspect as he drove over Boothferry Bridge just after 7pm, as well as West Yorkshire Police's Organised Crime Group, the Force's Motorway Unit and and regional Roads Policing Team.

The heroin was recovered from inside the car and also from the River Ouse.

James Christopher Robinson (29), of Watch House Lane, Doncaster, appeared at Batley and Dewsbury Magistrates Court on Monday charged with driving dangerously and possession of diamorphine with intent to supply. He was remanded in custody, to reappear on March 1.
