HGV driver’s lucky escape from Barlow crash
NEWS: News.
A LORRY driver was lucky to escape from his cab uninjured when his HGV ran into a ditch before mounting a tree on the A1041 in Barlow on Wednesday afternoon (February 6).
The incident happened at about 2.25pm as the driver headed towards Camblesforth. He lost control of his HGV near the Wishing Well roundabout close to the turn-off for Burn, and it careered off the road into the tree damaging two others. An ambulance checked over the driver after he had climbed out of his crumpled cab unhurt and he was released.
North Yorkshire County Council Highways officers attended at 4.20pm and they put up temporary traffic lights on the road for more than five hours and diverted vehicles towards Barlow while the White Scania lorry from a haulage company at Market Rasen was recovered.
