JANE HAMMILL is celebrating another feather in her cap - literally!

Jane, from Kellington, is a specialised hat-maker and has a deep passion for burlesque design.

The 51-year old showed off her new portfolio when she took them on display at a special stand in Manchester.

Jane, who recently attended her graduation ceremony after gaining a degree in millinery, fashion and textiles from Leeds College of Art, says burlesque was an enjoyable move away from her usual clientele of weddings.

She said: “I do ordinary hats for weddings and other special occasions but I also like to design burlesque-style ones as well so this was a pleasant change.

“They certainly created lots of attention when they were on display.

“Everyone was took back because they were so colourful and bright.

“Also it’s not often that people get the chance to try these kind of things, so a lot were wanting to try them on and see what they looked like.”
