It’s a garden of Eadon
A LITTLE Garden of Eadon has been created in Snaith thanks to a community effort.
Members of Eadon Place Residents’ Association decided they wanted to brighten up the front of the Eadon Place residents’ lounge.
The front patio was cleaned with a power sprayer by residents, Mavis Vines, of the association, donated plant pots, and Siobhan Stonelake, of the Downe Arms pub, donated two huge planters.
Other people in the area gave plants to be put in the pots and planters. Tony Snaith, of the association, said: “We are calling it the Garden of Eadon. It’s a wonderful facility for the less abled. A big thanks to all who have helped us with this project.”
Coun John Barrett said: “The residents told me they were after some planters and I went asking around. When I visited Siobhan at the Downe Arms, she was only to pleased to donate them. With the help of Geoff Thornton and his trailer we just about managed to get them up to Eadon Place where they look terrific, now they are planted up.”
Siobhan said: “I was going to sell off these planters but when John came to me about what the residents wanted I was pleased to donate them. I am sure they will all get pleasure from them now they are planted up.”
The residents would now like to know if anyone would like too donate a clematis plant, to grow up a trellis they have put up outside the lounge.
