Join the choir

LOCAL people are being invited to join the East Riding County Choir.

Rehearsals start again on Monday at Beverley Grammar School in Queensgate at 7.30pm or newcomers can join at the second session on January 26.

"If you enjoy the experience you can have an audition the following week," said a spokesman.

"Your own choice of music is used to check that you can sing in tune and have a voice that will blend with the rest of the choir.

"Good sight-singing, though useful, is not a requirement. The ability to read music is an advantage."

The choir's next performance is on May 2 when members will be singing the B Minor Mass by J S Bach.
