News In Brief: Inquest on train death woman

the funeral of Skellow woman Patricia Shaw, who was killed in an incident with a train at Adwick station on January 15, is due to take place next Friday.

Mrs Shaw, who was 58, leaves a partner, Tommy, and two daughters. She will be buried at Arksey Cemetery after a service at St Laurence’s Church, Adwick-le-Street.

The inquest into her death has been adjourned to await the completion of transport police enquiries.

Overgrown plots

Bawtry Town Council has been advised that six tenants of its allotments on the Station Road site are not cultivating their plots so the allotments committee will be investigating.

Craft session

doncaster Museum is running a Chinese New Year familiy craft activities session on Saturday, February 2, from 11am to 1pm. Admission is £1 per child.

Lunch treat

tickhill church organist and choirmaster John Marsden resumes his regular Sunday lunches tomorrow at his home in Sunderland Street to raise money for St Mary’s Flower Fund.
