Nomination for Goole business

A GOOLE business that tries to put a smile on children's faces has been nominated for the East Riding Council Chairman's Award after just nine months of trading.

The Fun Run, an indoor play centre, based at the Grange, on Rawcliffe Road, is the brainchild of trio, Amanda McGreavy, Beth Lowe and Gavin Adkins and offers activities for children up to the age of 11/12 years.

Nominated by an ERYC official for the business category of the annual awards, the threesome will get an invite to a finals cermeony at the Spa, in Bridlington, if they are among the top three entries for their category.

There are four categories to the awards in total, the other three being community, built heritage and environment.

Councillor Christopher Matthews, Chairman of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: "The Chairman's Awards offer a fantastic opportunity for the public to nominate individuals or groups, as they recognise the projects undertaken to enhance life in local communities."

The Fun Run employs 22 people and runs structured activities for groups of children as well as offering party packages, alongside the everyday sessions.

Joint owner, Beth Lowe, said: "We are really excited about being nominated for the Chairman's Award. We are a new business and we just want to bring something different to the people of Goole and surrounding areas."
