Read ale about new beer shop!
HE’S gone from bytes to bitters! Former IT professional Adrian Pettitt has followed his heart and moved from Apples to ales.
Adrian and his wife Vicky have opened Yorkshire Ales – a new shop in Snaith specialising in the very best of tyke treats, including 139 Yorkshire beers and a host of freshly produced produce from across the county.
The shop will also have a ‘foreign’ section, including beers from Lancashire, Lincolnshire and beyond.
“I’ve been an enthusiastic consumer of real ales over the years,” Adrian, 44, said. “And, as a family, we prefer to shop locally so opening the shop seemed a natural progression.
“There are many really good small breweries in the county and we want to showcase them. Our nearest is probably the Brown Cow brewery and in the ten days we’ve been open we’ve already sold three cases of their beer.”
But it’s not just CAMRA members whose mouths will be watering at the shop’s selection of goodies – other produce on sale include jams and pickles from Wetwang, chocolates from Scarborough and fruit liqueurs from Ripon.
“We just want to give people the chance to taste the best the county has to offer,” Adrian said. “The sort of things that are available at country fairs and farmers markets, but which haven’t broken through to the supermarkets yet. The sort of small family-run businesses that are producing great artisan products.”
