IT WAS back to school for one night only for these Sherburn folk – after a reunion night was held in aid of charity.
Former pupils of Sherburn High School from the 70s, 80s and 90s all met up for a special evening where they could catch up with old faces as well as help raise funds.
One of the organisers Martin Brogan, 42, helped arrange the disco as well as the raffle.
He said: “We had a really good time. There were about 200 there on the night and we also had a visit from Santa.
“We had a raffle with some good prizes and overall it was an enjoyable evening.”

Martin said the night raised over £900 for charity – which will be split between Cancer Research UK and St Leonard’s Hospice in York – and also had warm words of praise for volunteer Julie Claxton.
He added: “She (Julie) goes out of her way to help charities, and over the years she must have raised tens of thousands.”
Martin says the group are planning another reunion next year, with a possible summer festival taking place.
