Students at Monk Fryston Primary school have been doing their homework on martial arts training - and it was very much a practical project!

Youngsters at the school have been getting specialised training in kickboxing from an expert in the field.

Steve Penistone runs the classes all over the region and he insists the form of Korean kickboxing improves confidence, strength and co-ordination amongst other benefits.

The art of kickboxing stems from the original form of Taekwondo and the sessions were all about the children’s methods of self-defence and general fitness.
