A HOST of Christmas and New Year activities have kept youngsters entertained at the Rainbow Nursery School in Barkston Ash over the Yuletide holiday period.
The popular school activity club in London Road has 250 registered members and both last week and this many of those aged between four and 11 have been making jewellery, pottery and painting in their craft classes.
Many others have been taking part in sports activities and taking winter walks with staff.
Out of school coordinator Tracey Owen said: “The children have really enjoyed getting immersed in Christmas crafts and outdoor activities such as playing football and other games. On Monday we all held an out of school New Year’s Eve party with lots of food and soft drinks, which the children really enjoyed. Also on that day youngsters and staff went for a long walk around the village, to Scarthingwell Park before returning to the nursery.”
Miss Owen added: “Another trip we have planned is to the Railway Museum in York, which I’m sure the children will find really interesting. As well as all the other activities the children have also been playing indoor games such as chess.”
