Set to wow ‘em in Weldrake
Yorkshire singer/songwriter Chris Berry will launch 'Sunday Night at The Arms' at the newly refurbished Wenlock Arms in Wheldrake.
TOP entertainment is coming to Weldrake’s Whenlock Arms as top Yorkshire singer/songwriter Chris Berry (pictured) launches ‘Sunday Night at The Arms’ at the newly refurbished pub on Sunday.
Chris (pictured) is a well-established performer throughout the county and has recently been shortlisted in a prestigious national songwriting competition for his ballad Wonderful Smile. Landlord Stevie Howard said he is delighted to have secured one of the favourite names on the circuit, especially as Chris’ track record includes supporting national stars such as Joe Longthorne.
Stevie added: “It’s great that we’ve managed to get hold of Chris as he’s a very busy singer-guitarist and many will have heard him elsewhere with his bands Fog and The Chris Berry Band, with his duo partner as Chris and Mick or through his charity fund raising Singing Farmers concerts.
“Sunday sees the start of what we hope will become a popular acoustic-style night. We’ve invested heavily in the pub and I’m sure that nights like this will really show just how committed we are to making the Wenlock Arms a place where everyone wants to come along. Chris is all about giving people a good time and plays songs that everyone knows and loves as well as some of his own compositions.”
Chris recently released Wonderful Smile – The Acoustic Album and a new CD single Take Me Now. He is also a successful writer and has released three books this year. He will shortly be announcing full details of his own UK tour in September 2013.
