Sheffield man charged with Doncaster child abduction bid

A SHEFFIELD man has been charged with attempting to abduct a seven-year-old girl who was riding her bike on a Doncaster street.

Simon Goad, aged 46, of Riverside Court, Dinnington, Sheffield, has been remanded in custody and will appear at Doncaster Crown Court next week.

He is also charged with possessing indecent images of children.

The alleged incident happened at 5.30pm on Friday, September 21, on Mutual Road, Hexthorpe.

DI Rich Partridge said: “We are still in the early stages of this investigation and I would urge anyone who may have information regarding this incident, or any similar incident in Doncaster, particular the Hexthorpe area to please come forward.”

Call police on 101 quoting incident number 927.
