Survey on hall in hope to secure funding
A SURVEY has been carried out on a community building in Blacktoft, in the hope of securing funding.
The Old School Hall, which is located on Main Street, received a free survey from the Prohelp charity, which aims to provide services for those who cannot afford it.
The results are still pending, however, friends of the hall are hoping they can submit for grants to carry out the repairs.
Sue Nicholson, who is the parish council clerk and lives across the road from the hall, said: "At the moment the hall is in good condition but we think it needs new rewiring along with toilets and a general refurbishment."
The hall is opened daily from dawn til dusk and is mainly used by passing cyclists doing the Trans Pennine Trail and is now a stamping station for the cards.
Locally it is used for local parish council meetings, community groups and church meetings.
The results of the survey will be issued in the upcoming weeks.
