Teenager completes 15,000 feet solo sky dive

DAREDEVIL teenager, James Parmar, has completed a 15,000 feet solo skydive in aid of charity.

This was the latest stunt for the 16-year-old Goole High School student who has spent the last two years completing a series of challenges to raise funds for different causes.

These have included being the youngest person to cycle 245 miles through Death Valley, in California, in temperatures exceeding 135 degrees, guiding a professional cyclist team through the Race Across Ireland, doing a tandem 15,000 feet tandem skydive, and running the Leeds Half Marathon.

Of his solo skydive, James told the Courier: "What an experience! When I first jumped, crashing through the skies at 120mph, dropping thousands of feet in seconds, it was the best feeling of all.

"Then, pulling my parachute at 6,000 feet and going from 120mph to 20mph and manoeuvring onto the airfield really hit the spot."

This represented James' final charity event for a while, as he is now going to concentrate on his A Levels and applications to University.

From September, the Whitgift daredevil is to start delivering motivational speeches to teenagers like himself.
