Theft threat

POLICE are issuing warnings to motorists who park their vehicles in beauty-spot car parks around Selby district – particularly Barlow Common and Brayton Barff.

There has been an increase in vehicles being broken into when parked up in these areas, and officers want people to be vigilant.

Some of the thefts occurred because valuables were left on display, but a spokesman added that police believe the culprits are watching people enter the car parks because a number of vehicles have been broken into despite people hiding valuables in the boot having parked up.
