Thieves snatch jewellery

POLICE are warning residents to be vigilant heir properties following two house burglaries in the area.

The thieves got away with a large haul of jewellery when they broke into a detached property on Willow Drive, Howden, on January 20, as well as a small amount of cash and a camera.

The jewellery items taken in the incident, between 11.30am and 3.15pm, were a DKNY gold watch with a white rectangular face and diamante stones; a gold diamond engagement ring; a gold wedding ring; an Emerald and diamond half eternity ring; a white and yellow gold cross with diamond splinters on a gold chain; a white gold 16ins chain with diamond solitaire in square clasp with matching earrings; an antique jade green rosary with medal bearing a picture of St Patrick; two Catholic miraculous gold medals; and a pentagon shaped silver St Christopher pendant with no chain.

The camera was a Samsung IT 100 digital model.

The second incident, intruders broke into a property on Brierley Close, Snaith, just before 2am on Tuesday January 24.

Entry was gained via a rear door but the house alarm sounded which disturbed the intruders and they left without stealing anything.

Anyone with any information about either incident is asked to contact Humberside Police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference numbers 1886409 and 1886915 respectively or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
